Newton's Christmas Cuddles

Hi all, today I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog with a card I created for mailing.  I love having a extra store of flat cards that I can pop in the mail.  I needed extra this year, so this one is already on it's way to a friend!

I just had a desire to work with blues and greys.  I had a piece of this lovely grey with trees paper, so I layered that over some navy cardstock.  I cut an extra piece from the navy using the scalloped die from the Frameworks Die Set. I cut a white rectangle that fit inside the stitched border and distress inked it with an ombre look.  Then I stamped, diecut and copic colored the images from Newton's Christmas Cuddles.

I hope you've enjoyed my card today, and I also hope you've enjoyed working on your own Christmas cards to send out some extra cheer to friends and family!

StudioKatia Holiday Village

Hi everyone! I'm over on the Butterfly Reflections Ink blog today with a quick and easy little scene card featuring a new release stamp/die set, Holiday Village by Studio Katia

I started with a piece of kraft cardstock and cut the center out using the middle sized MFT Dienamics Linked Chain Oval Frame Die. On my white background I inked a little Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to create a sky.  I then glued down my trees and houses and stamped the little sentiment in Black Onyx Versafine Ink.

This is a very simple and quaint card, that was the look I was going for.  A card that could be made in less than an hour, but still has that charming quality!

Thank you so much for stopping and I hope you've enjoyed my holiday village scene card!

Newton's Nook Designs - Newton's Boo-Tiful Night

Hi Newton's Nook Designs fans, welcome to my blog!  Today I'm showing off a card featuring the stamp set, Newton's Boo-Tiful Night.  I was super excited to work with this set because NND recently added coordinating dies. I'll link all the products below for you to see.

So I started out by diecutting a circle and distress inking the moon in using both a light and dark yellow ink.  Then I placed the die cut circle over the moon and sponged on a light grey. Over that, I sponged a little darker grey on the Cloudy Sky Stencil Then I distress inked all the edges using Black Soot distress ink. I added a heavy splatter of water/white acrylic ink to create the stars.

I cut the hill using the Land Borders die set, then inked it with Tea Dye and Fossilized Amber distress ink. I hoped it would make the top of the earth show the moon glow.  I copic colored the NND images, die cut them and popped them up using foam tape. I glued a few bats over the moon and stamped my sentiment on the hill.

I hope you like my project and thanks for stopping!

I entered this card in the following challenges!

JustRite Papercraft Snowflakes Background

Hi everyone, a second and final card to show you today from the JustRite Papercraft Christmas release that is in store now!

I used this FABULOUS Snowflakes Background Stamp along with the sentiment from Merry Christmas Sentiments, both shown below.

I heat embossed the snowflakes on my card panel, then used a few blue ink tones to sponge over them.  I think this created a magical background that I absolutely love!  I tied some silver cord and popped up the sentiment over.  This was a really quick card that has such an elegant look!

Thanks for stopping by, here's a link where you can find both products shown below!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 4

Hi everyone, welcome to day 4 of the Newton reveals.  This is our final day for August and we've got 3 adorable Halloween themed stamp/die sets for you!  First off is Halloween Trio. I adore these little dressed up critters!!  I distress inked a BIG ol' moon and inked a purple night sky around it with a little water splatter.  I copic colored my trio, die cut them and popped them up in front of the moon.  I love the extra dies that coordinate with this set.  I die cut the Trick Or Treat in black and white, then the top layer with purple glitter. I adore the sweet little bats too!

Second up, Candy Corn.  I adore the little face that you can stamp on the corn.  I created a little wreath and stamped the funny sentiment right in the middle!  The rounded corner stitched rectangle background is from the Frames and Flags die set!

Last card for today! Boo Hoo, isn't that funny?  Oh I just love a cute owl, but pairing it with this little ghost with that sentiment, just really cracked me up!  I also distress inked the ground and added a few little pumpkins.  The spider webs were added from Newton's Perfect Pumpkin. The background panel is from the Frames and Flags die set.

Can anyone guess where I got these pumpkins from???  The answer will be at the VERY bottom of this post if you haven't already guessed!

Hi All!  If you've scrolled down this far...the pumpkins are actually the little word bubbles that cut the Boo and the Hoo out!  I just colored them to look like pumpkins!  How cool is that?

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 3

Hi everyone!  Day 3 of the August Reveals and now we're getting to my favorite time of year, when all the Halloween/Fall products start showing up. I was so excited when I saw this set, Hoppy Halloween for the first time!  I just LOVE bunnies, don't you?  And ahem..how about that Flying Bat stencil???  Wow!

So I took a light kraft piece of cardstock in A2 size.  I used the Sunscape Stencil to first make the darker rays with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Then I turned my stencil so that what I just shaded was covered, and I used Mustard Seed Distress Ink to add some moon rays! I die cut a moon using a circle die, then added some shading around the perimeter of the moon.

I cut a grassy hill using the Land Borders Die set, added some Crushed Olive Distress ink and some water splatter. I cut a black banner from the Frames and Flags die set and white heat embossed the sentiment. I Copic colored my bunny image, then popped it up over the banner.

I honestly love my first Halloween card of the season!  I plan on sending it to one of my nephews with a little treat inside :)

Thanks for joining me today, make sure to comment on all the DT's blogs for your chance to win!

Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration Blog Hop

Hello Newton fans and welcome to our 5 year anniversary blog hop at Newton's Nook Designs!!!  I'm so excited to be sharing a little more from this amazing July release, PLUS more prizes AND some extra freebies just for ordering!  Stay tuned for more information on that below!

A quick little shout out to Jennifer and Jeff Jackson to congratulate them on 5 years of producing amazing products and for allowing me to be part of this wonderful team!  Every month I'm wowed by their creativity and look forward to every release!

For my first card today, I've used Narly Mermaids to create a fun ocean scene! I colored up a the images using Copic markers.  I die cut the waves from the Sea Borders die set, then distress inked them in Tim Holtz Salty Ocean.  I flicked white acrylic paint cut 50/50 with water using my paint brush to create interest on the waves.  I used TH Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick distress inks on my sky to create the sunset and also added a little white flicked paint as if they stars were beginning to show at twilight.

I'm going to be giving this card to a friend who will be moving away soon.  I found this sweet little sentiment in the Paradise Palms stamp set, "Find Your Paradise", which seems like a perfect thing to say to someone embarking on a long move to a new area. I stamped it on the sky along with the little sun and a few birds flying across the horizon.

I'm also adding a second card that I wasn't sure I was going to share.  But my husband said he liked it, so I thought I would!  I used the new 2x3 Flip Flop Life set and colored up a bunch of flip flops in different Copic colors, mounted them in a row on a kraft background. I added a couple of tiny fish from one of the other July release sets and I doodled the lines and dots around the card, which is a first for me.  What do you think of this look?

So thank you so much for joining me today!  Keep scrolling to comment on all the DT's blogs to be eligible to win FIVE $25 prizes in store credit! (Links Below)

Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration - Day 3

Hi everyone, welcome to day 3, omgoodness this week is moving along quickly!  Today we've got 2 new stamps that coordinate perfectly with the dies from the Frames & Flags die set and the Framework Die set.

The first being the new Sharks stamp.  I took out my trusty Tombow Dual Brush tip markers and colored all these happy smiling sharks!  Or, do you think they all may be hungry?  I diecut the using the largest postage die from the Framework set.  Then mounted on some turquoise cardstock.

I'm adding my sentiment to the inside of the card as I didn't want to cover any of these toothy friends!

My second card is the Flamingo stamp, and I just had this idea to color them all different rainbow colors.  Again I used my Tombow markers and just had fun! I cut the image out using the largest scallop from the Frames and Flags die set, then mounted on purple cardstock!

So that's it for day 3, make sure to keep scrolling for your chance to win a store g/c!

Newton's Nook Designs April Release - Day 4

Hello!  Wow, can you believe that we've already made it to day 4 of the Newton's Nook Designs April Reveals???  That means that tomorrow, all these new goodies that we've been showing you all week will be on sale in the store!

For my first card, I started by stenciling over a light green polka dot paper with the new Floral Lace Stencil to create this vibrant background!  I colored up the floral image from "Little Lilies" which is brand new and added a kitty from Newton's Costume Party to sit under the flowers.  And oops, a little lily bloom accidentally fell on the kitties head!  Lastly I added a sentiment from the Lily set on one of the banners fromFrames and Flags Die Setand mounted it at the top!

For my second card I stamped out this sweet sentiment/main image from "April Showers" on the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and then cut another tag out from the orange polka dot paper and offset the tags together.  I cut a rounded rectangle from the Frames and Flags Die Set and this sweet umbrella from the Umbrella Pals set.  Lastly I tied some twine and added some glitter enamel drops to the scene.  This card was super easy and I think turned out really pretty!
