Studio Katia 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop!!

Hi everyone!  Welcome to the 2nd anniversary blog hop for Studio Katia. I'm so excited to be taking part in this event and am sharing a few projects I've made with the brand new SK released products that I'll link along the way!

The May 2018 release includes 6 new Clear Stamp Sets and 4 sets of Coordinating Dies, 4 new stand alone Creative Dies, 2 new Stencils and new Embellishments!

You should have arrived from the talented Natalia Zubkova's blog and the amazing Liliya Rytsar's blog is your next stop. If you get lost you can find the full hop list below or visit Studio Katia Blog!

So now to show you the cards I've made for this very special occasion. For my first 2 cards, I'm featuring Lovely Blooms.  I copic colored and fussy cut this gorgeous image.  It's foam mounted over a distress inked background and if you can see..I did a little tone on tone stenciling using the new SK Bubbles Stencil. I added some Spring Gems and April Crystals all around for some sparkle!

My second card is also featuring the Lovely Blooms stamp set, this time I did a little watercolor using my zig pens and a water brush. I did a little black ink splatter around the image and added these gorgeous Iridescent Bubbles to accent the flowers.

And lastly I put together this fun birthday card using Kobi Bearing Gifts with coordinating dies.  Plus the sentiment set Birthday Greetings and the Bubbles Stencil again, only this time I inked it up in greens and yellows to create this bold background.

I Copic colored and foam popped Kobi up in front of my shaker window that's been filled with these amazing little Crystal Stars. These may become some of my most go too shaker fillers, they are so beautiful and really shine when the card is shaken!

Thank you SO very much for stopping, please enjoy the rest of the hop, visiting the blogs of all these talented crafters!

Studio Katia is giving away TWO $100 CAD gift certificates on each day of the Hop, winners will be chosen from the comments left on all blogs of the Hop!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Day 4

Hello everyone and welcome to day 4 of the May reveals over at Newton's Nook Designs!  Today I've got 3 cards to share with you!  We're featuring 2 stamp/die sets today!

So for my first card I colored Newton in true Newton Orange Stripe Tabby.  Sometimes people ask me what my color combinations are when I Copic color.  I thought I'd snap a pic of the colors I used on this kitty, in case you'd like to try one for yourself!

My second card I randomly stamped some of the donuts from Newton's Donut along with a sentiment.  I then added the Newton image die cut and copic colored from an older set, Newton Loves Coffee Because who doesn't love a good cup of coffee and donuts?!

For my last card, I Copic colored and die cut this cute image from Newton Loves Boxes.  I die cut a rounded rectangle from Frames and Flags Die set and mounted on my background turquoise polka dot paper. I love when I order from NND and my package comes tied up with this pretty orange and white twine.  I always save mine and I think it looks perfect on this card!

So that's it for the May reveals..don't forget all of these new products we've featured this week will be in store!  I certainly have enjoyed reading all your comments...make sure to keep scrolling and comment to win one of these sets!!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Day 3

Hi everyone, day 3 of the Newton's Nook Designs May reveals and I'm here with a stamp/die set called, "Papa Bear".  This is a perfect stamp set for Father's Day coming up..or just an all around card for your favorite Dads!

I kept this card simple, I colored and die cut two of the Winston Bear images and stamped the sentiment onto the white panel/frame that was cut out using the new Framework Dies!  I added a couple doo dads and the background is just a fun turquoise stripe.  Lastly I tied some twine to the top of the card.

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Day 2

Hello and welcome to day 2 of the May reveals at Newton's Nook Designs.  Today we've got another A-mazing floral for you, called Peony Blooms with coordinating dies. For my top card here with the yellow flowers (are there any yellow peonies known in nature?  I'm guessing not, but I just was drawn to my yellow copics when I went to color this).  I love how this turned out, using 2 of the dies from the Framework set, pictured below, to create my frame. The background paper is by Echo Park called Here & Now.

For my second card, I attempted a technique new to me, where you stamp your images using distress ink and then a waterbrush to color the images, pulling color from your lines.  Admittedly, I need practice..however, my last flowers were better than the first few I colored, so I thought I'd show you!  This is a technique I plan to practice more. I die cut my panel and layered it on gold and berry cardstock.

Stampendous Birch Bouquet

hello and welcome!  I'm all into flowers right now.  My garden is in bloom and I'm so inspired.  All my spring flowers are finished, but the lilies and roses are in full bloom and we're waiting on the hydrangeas to begin showing out!

I picked this Stampendous Birch Bouquet stamp up last week.  I'd been looking at it for a while and knew I needed it.  I copic colored the image, then diecut it and mounted on a diecut panel.  I cannot remember who makes the background die, I cut it a long time ago and it was in my stash diecut pile!

The sentiment is from an MFT stamp set, Beach Bunnies which I heat embossed in white on a black banner!

I hope you've enjoyed my project and I'd love it if you'd leave me a comment!  Have an awesome day!

Newton's Nook Designs May Release - Day 1

Hello and welcome to day 1 of the Newton's reveals for the month of May!  Today we're featuring 2 new products, this amazing panel stamp called Blooming Botanicals and the Framework Die set.

When I received my package from NND this month, this was the first stamp I inked up, I couldn't wait to color this gorgeous panel of flowers!  From the Lilies and Morning Glories to the Zinnias, it's a grouping of many of my favorite summer flowers!

I'm also loving this amazing grouping of dies, today I've used the largest postage stamp die and it's the perfect compliment to all the panel stamps in Newton's line.  From these florals to the dogs, cats and snowmen, your image will fit perfectly on this die!

In case you are wondering, this panel was colored with Arteza markers on Bristol Smooth cardstock for watercolor. The background paper is from Sunny Studio Stamps, Classic Gingham 6x6 paper Now keep scrolling for your chance to win this stamp set!!

Unity Stamp Company Vibes and Tribes

It's Friday, it's friday!  Oh my gosh, I have so much work to get done before the weekend, but no big deal!  I'm taking a moment to share a card that I colored up with my friend Jade yesterday.  She's getting back into cardmaking after a long hiatus, and she's just learning to color so I'm enjoying teaching her.  So while she's working on her projects, I've got some time just to play!

This is a fairly simple card I made using Unity Stamp Company Vibes and Tribes.  This image is mesmerizing, I absolutely adore it!  It kinda speaks to the soul, do you know what I mean?

So here's what I did.  I stamped the image using VersaFine Black Onyx on Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock. I die cut it using the largest rectangle from Sizzix Stitched Rectangles Die set #661189. I colored using my Tombow Dual brush markers to color, then foam popped the entire panel onto this starry background A2 sized.  I added a few glitter enamel dots last.

Oh!  In case you are interested, Unity is having a HUGE birthday sale, so if you put this image in your cart, it magically takes 50% off or better.  Now would be a great time to pick up this image if you love it like I do!

I hope you have an AMAZING weekend!  Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing mom's out there!
