Unity Stamp Company Blooming Rebecca Girl

Hi everyone!  Today I'm showing off something really different.  It's not often that I use my stamps for anything but cards.  But I recently joined a Secret Sister Swap, (a group of crafters that are assigned secret partners to spoil with crafting supplies).  One of the requirements was that each sister creates a handmade gift to include in the package.  Now that my sister has received her box of goodies, I'm free to show this off!

My sister's fav color combo was grey and yellow.  So I purchased this frame from Michael's and painted it with acrylic paints.  I stamped out this GORGEOUS image, Blooming Rebecca Girl one of the Angie Girl images drawn by Angie Blom for Unity Stamp Company.  I colored her with Copics and shaded around the image verrrrry carefully using Weathered Wood distress ink.  I distressed the grass using Twisted Citron and Forest Moss distress inks.  I stamped the sentiment right in the center of the grass and she was ready to be framed!

I have a really nice collection of buttons and wooden doo dads, so I decided to create a collage of them in opposite corners.  I found that when I layered the wood shapes and added a bit of color, they really popped.  I took the tiny leaves and dipped them in some distress ink and I love the extra color they provide.

So that's it, I really hope you've enjoyed my Unity Stamp framed project.  I hope you'll leave a comment and consider following my blog!

Newton's Nook Designs Pineapple Delight

Hi everyone!  I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog today, sharing a card I made using the Pineapple Delight Stamp and Die set!  I absolutely LOVE this set, because pineapple happens to be one of my favorite fruits!

I started by water coloring on a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth Watercolor paper.  I used some Broken China and Salty Ocean distress inks.  Then I splattered the background with a little Faded Jeans distress ink, and white and gold watered down acrylic paints.

I inked up the pineapple in some gold and green and cut the tops using a light green, distressed with some mossy ink.  I added a few strips of washi and sprinkled a little gold glitter on the tops too.  I just love that sentiment!  Such a perfect, fun font makes me happy :)

Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge Sketch Challenge #43

Hi everyone!  I'm participating in this awesome sketch challenge over on the Newton's Nook Designs Inky Paws Challenge blog.  Here's a link so you can go check it out and join us for some fun!

For this challenge, I decided to use these super sweet owls from the brand new March release "Cottage Garden" stamp/die set.  I had a set of owls leftover from the last card I made and it was so easy just to follow along with this great sketch!  I also used the stitched hill die from the "Land Borders" die set. I like this card so much, I'm probably going to end up making more of them, just to have on hand using the various sentiments in this set.."many thanks", "thinking of you" and "hello friend".  Those are the types of cards I seem to send out most often.

My colored owls paired perfectly with this new Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow Collection 6x6 and Lawn Fawn Lime Hemp Cord.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today, I'd love it if you'd leave a comment!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release

Wow, what a week this has been!  Welcome to the final day, day 4 of the Newton's Nook Designs March release!  I have thoroughly enjoyed all of these awesome new products and I bet you have too!  Tomorrow all the new March release products will be available for sale in the shop at Newton's Nook Designs!

Now about my project using this super cute stamp/die set, "Newton's Rainy Day".  I white heat embossed the raindrops, then inked the A2 sized panel with Stormy Sky Distress ink. I sprinkled a little water to give the sky a more drizzly look. I cut the MFT Pierced Frame die in navy blue card stock and glued it on top of my panel.  I stamped and die cut the Newton image and 3 of the frogs which were all Copic colored.   I thought it looked fun to add some frogs on the sentiment banner and umbrella.  What a perfect stamp set for spring, with all the spring showers on the way!

Thank you so much for joining me this week, please keep scrolling to find out how to win this new stamp set for yourself!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release

Hello everyone and welcome to day 3 of the Newton's Nook Designs March release!  Today we are featuring a stamp/die set called "Cottage Garden".  I was really excited to see this set and had so many ideas on how to use it.  It reminded me of the Scandinavian Folk Art that I grew up with.  I decided to design my card it in a way that reminded me of a Danish quilt I'd seen and admired.

I had this neat window background die by MFT and I thought it would help me create the look I was going for.  I stamped out 5 owls from the Cottage Garden stamp set in different colors of ink.  I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out. Then I used the same 5 colors of ink to stamp the flowers.  I layered my window (Snocone cardstock by MFT) onto a base of Natural cardstock by MFT and glued that onto my A2 sized card.  I finished off with a little twine and some gold enamel dots.

Newton's Nook Design March Release

Hello again and welcome to day 2 of Newton's Nook Designs March release!  Today we're featuring a stamp set called, "Lovable Laundry" with the coordinating "Stitched Onesie Die".  Oh these little outfits are so sweet and I love that you can use the Stitched Onesie die on it's own with any papers you choose!!  Working with this set really made me miss my son being that tiny where I could dress him in these cute little clothes.  But, he's 17 now..so that was a long time ago!

I started with the background die, Stitched Rope Nested Rectangle Dies by Kat Scrappiness and I inked the bottom in some Twisted Citron Distress Ink and the top in Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.  I die cut the bottom strip of grass using the Newton's Nook Designs Land Borders grass die (part of last month's February release) from some patterned paper I had in my stash.  I wanted to make a little laundry line to hang these cute little onsies on, so I used some small strips of wood grain paper and glued them onto some black cardstock to make them sturdy and trimmed to fit.  I wanted the planks to look real.

I Copic colored the onesies and then popped them up with foam tape on top of a string of twine.  I stamped the sentiment on a little banner and added a twine bow and some doodlebug sequins.

Thanks so much for stopping!  Make sure to keep scrolling to learn how to win this cute stamp set for yourself!!

Newton's Nook Designs March Release

Hi everyone!!  It's day 1 of our March Release over at Newton's Nook Designs.  Today we are featuring this super fun stamp/die set, "Winston Takes Flight" along with the "Sky Borders" die set.  I had so much fun coloring up this super sweet image of Winston in the plane!  Those little puffy clouds are so much fun.  I love that you can add a sentiment on the banner, which is so unique!  And that cloud border is my favorite!  I just used a little light blue distress ink underneath to make the clouds stand out.  It looks like Winston is soaring above the clouds!

Newton's Nook Designs February Release

Hi everyone, I'm here today with another project from the Newton's Nook Designs February release.  I chose this stamp from the set "Newton Loves Cake" pictured below.  This set has matching dies, which I didn't use on this particular project.

I stamped my image, copic colored it and then die cut with a plain round die.  I offset the image to the left to show off the cute turquoise polka dots and then I die cut a bottom panel in light pink and added the ribbon that reminds me of piped cake icing!  I made my own little banner for the sentiment and added a few clear sequins for a little extra.

Thanks so much for stopping by, make sure you visit the Newton's Nook Design shop to see all the new February releases!
