WhipperSnapper Designs Umbrella and Slicker

I've got one more card to show you that I made over the weekend.  Someone in my family is under the weather right now, so I made this little pick me up of a card to mail off today.  (on the inside, the sentiment I stamped says, "sunny skies are ahead") #WhipperSnapperDesigns #UmbrellandSlicker

Crafty items I used to make this project:

Gina Marie Designs Birch Tree Die

Happy Monday, omgosh I've got a lot of work to do today, not the fun kind either.  So before I dive into that, I grabbed a cup of hot black coffee and decided to show off a card I made last night using this AWESOME new Birch Tree die by Gina Marie Designs.

I'd initially planned to make a night or winter scene with this cluster of birch, but my mind was drawn back to days on the farm, in that grove of birch trees with the sun streaming down onto the browning earth.  The fall air was crisp and most of the leaves had fallen.

I masked off the frame and then sponged on some Weathered Wood distress ink.  Then I mixed some Black Soot distress ink and water and flicked it with a stiff brush on the trees to create a birch-like pattern.  Short of sitting and painting on the stripes, I think this gives a real-ish effect and doesn't take nearly the amount of time.

I had a lovely time creating this scene!  I've linked the products below for your shopping convenience.  I hope you all have a wonderful day and leave a comment, I'd love to hear from you!

For this first card I used this gorgeous A2 sized Butterfly Cardfront Die along with Best Wishes Sentiment and Floral Trio Dies to make these gorgeous flowers!

Gina Marie Designs Palm Tree Hammock Die, Flip Flop Die and a sneak peek die!

Hi everyone, I'm really excited about the card I have to show you today!  First of all..GAH!, can you believe this new Palm Tree Hammock Die by Gina?  I'm serious, I about fell over when I saw it.  I don't typically drink much, but this design has me craving a Corona!

In addition, notice those super adorable flip flops down there in the corner, well those are just darling new dies and the Thinking Of You is just about to hit her shop, so you've got a sneak peek here today!

Starting with an A2 card base, I added a LARGE plain circle for my sun.  I distressed the edges with Mustard Seed and Fossilized Amber inks.  I distressed the sand with Vintage Photo and then took my copics in various browns and greys and dotted my sand!  For a fun look, I also distressed the Thinking of You words with chipped sapphire on top and Wild Honey, sort of to give it a beachy feel!

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you enjoy your 4th of July holiday if you live here in the U.S.!
