Unity Spring To Go

Hi all!  Popping in with a quick card I made for a challenge over on SplitCoastStampers.  Last week I was honored to be chosen as the "Featured Stamper" over at SCS, so this week I'm playing along by caseing a card made by this week's FS!

For my card I used this super cute coffee image by Unity Stamp Company, Spring To Go (Image was colored with Kuretake Zig Clean Watercolor Markers Die cut is MFT Zig Zag Stitched Circle STAX, hemp cord by Lawn Fawn, Enamel Dots are found on Ebay at a wonderful price of .76 per pack! Sugar Enamel Dots

Newton's Nook Designs - Newton Rides West

Hi everyone!  Today I'm up on the Newton's Nook Designs Blog with an extra project for June.  Have you stopped by the store to see the new June release yet?  Here's a link to check it out! Newton's Nook Designs Online Store

I so enjoyed working with the new products this month, I decided to use some of the images from Newton Rides West again!

I started by die cutting a smaller rectangle using watercolor paper. I prefer the Strathmore Bristol Smooth Surface for most of my watercolor projects and that's what I've used here.  I took a wide head brush and using distress inks, created the ombre effect behind the images. I die cut and copic colored my Newton kitties and cactus.  I used the Wanted sentiment up above and then two different sentiments below.  I used some grid and ombre papers from my stash to use as my base layer.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 4

Hello!  Welcome to our last day, day 4 of the June release at Newton's Nook Designs. Don't forget, all of the products you've seen in this week's release will be available in store tomorrow!!! 

Today we've got this super fun set, "Newton Rides West".  Don't you just LOVE these fun images and sentiments?!  I drew my inspiration for this card from the incredible red rocks in Arizona.  It's been years since I've seen them with my own eyes, but I still remember how awe inspiring this desert/mountain region was to drive through.  I found this photo on Pinterest to give you an idea, in case you've not seen the area in person.

I had a lot of fun building this scene with Newton riding his hobby horse through the cactus filled desert!  I distress inked my pre-night sky and added stars with white splatter. The clouds are from the Sky Borders set by NND.  The hill was created with a die by MFT, Scenic Safari.  I finished it off by heat embossing the sentiment in gold on a banner and adding that cute little horse shoe!

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 3

Hi everyone, today is a big day 3 of the June Release over at Newton's Nook Designs.  Today we are featuring 2 separate stamp and die sets!  Cultivated Cactus and Cuppa Cactus.

My top card, I had SO much fun stamping out the cactus and different pots in various ink colors, then die cutting them all out.  I put together a collage of plants over a distress inked ground (rusty hinge) and then did a little paint splatter.  I added a bit of twine and sequins and finished off with that great sentiment, "Thank you for sticking by me!".

My second "cards" were made using the Cuppa Cactus set.  I could have colored these all day long, they are really easy and oh so cute!  I had water colored a few panels in the bright yellow and it really makes the mugs and cactus stand out!  Those sentiments, aren't those funny??!  And true!  The cups and cactus were colored with Copic markers.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 2

Hi everyone!  Today is day 2 of the June release over at Newton's Nook Designs.  I'm sharing this very sentimental stamp set, Furr-Ever Friends.  As you may know, I recently lost my sweet and loyal dog Dahlila.  She was with our family for 12 wonderful years.  I cannot tell you how special it was to receive cards, especially handmade cards from friends that were thinking of my family during this time.  

I love that the cat and dog are both in silhouette.  And the little accessories, the wings, halo and paw print are so sweet.  I designed both of these cards in a bit of an understated way.  I felt the images and sentiments should really be the main focus.  And now I have special cards to share when the time comes to extend my sympathies for the loss of a furbaby.

Newton's Nook Designs June Release Day 1

Hello everyone and welcome to day 1 of the June release at Newton's Nook Designs!  Today we are featuring this super cute stamp/die set, Terrific Terriers.  Omgoodness aren't those little pups cute?? I so enjoyed copic coloring both doggies and then featuring them front and center with their little blue ribbon aside the fun banner I created with a star and banner die cut.  I just love square cards, the base on this is 5"x5".

Newton's Nook Designs/Studio Katia Blog Hop

Hi everyone, Amanda here!  You should have arrived from Olga's blog, if not, you'll find all the DT's blog links below if you'd like to start at the beginning!

Today I'm showing you 2 cards I've made using the Newton's Nook Designs Stamp Set, Aloha Newton and Studio Katia's Stitched Nested Creative Square Dies.  I decided to make one card a shaker to show off Newton in his hammock, with some Studio Katia's Caribbean Mist Sequins and Clear Iridescent Seed Beads mixed together to look like the foam from the ocean washing up on the sand.  I just love how it turned out!

For my non-shaker card, I used the Creative Square die again in the largest size and created the background with distress inks. I also cut out a rounded edge of the next die size down, to create my sandy beach at the bottom. I fussy cut and colored a different image of Newton from the same stamp set, Aloha Newton and positioned him under the moon with his guitar.  I also stamped a palm tree from Paradise Palms.  I added a few Clear Round Drops  and loved how they blended into the scene!
