Newton's Nook Designs - Newton's Boo-Tiful Night

Hi Newton's Nook Designs fans, welcome to my blog!  Today I'm showing off a card featuring the stamp set, Newton's Boo-Tiful Night.  I was super excited to work with this set because NND recently added coordinating dies. I'll link all the products below for you to see.

So I started out by diecutting a circle and distress inking the moon in using both a light and dark yellow ink.  Then I placed the die cut circle over the moon and sponged on a light grey. Over that, I sponged a little darker grey on the Cloudy Sky Stencil Then I distress inked all the edges using Black Soot distress ink. I added a heavy splatter of water/white acrylic ink to create the stars.

I cut the hill using the Land Borders die set, then inked it with Tea Dye and Fossilized Amber distress ink. I hoped it would make the top of the earth show the moon glow.  I copic colored the NND images, die cut them and popped them up using foam tape. I glued a few bats over the moon and stamped my sentiment on the hill.

I hope you like my project and thanks for stopping!

I entered this card in the following challenges!

JustRite Papercraft Snowflakes Background

Hi everyone, a second and final card to show you today from the JustRite Papercraft Christmas release that is in store now!

I used this FABULOUS Snowflakes Background Stamp along with the sentiment from Merry Christmas Sentiments, both shown below.

I heat embossed the snowflakes on my card panel, then used a few blue ink tones to sponge over them.  I think this created a magical background that I absolutely love!  I tied some silver cord and popped up the sentiment over.  This was a really quick card that has such an elegant look!

Thanks for stopping by, here's a link where you can find both products shown below!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 4

Hi everyone, welcome to day 4 of the Newton reveals.  This is our final day for August and we've got 3 adorable Halloween themed stamp/die sets for you!  First off is Halloween Trio. I adore these little dressed up critters!!  I distress inked a BIG ol' moon and inked a purple night sky around it with a little water splatter.  I copic colored my trio, die cut them and popped them up in front of the moon.  I love the extra dies that coordinate with this set.  I die cut the Trick Or Treat in black and white, then the top layer with purple glitter. I adore the sweet little bats too!

Second up, Candy Corn.  I adore the little face that you can stamp on the corn.  I created a little wreath and stamped the funny sentiment right in the middle!  The rounded corner stitched rectangle background is from the Frames and Flags die set!

Last card for today! Boo Hoo, isn't that funny?  Oh I just love a cute owl, but pairing it with this little ghost with that sentiment, just really cracked me up!  I also distress inked the ground and added a few little pumpkins.  The spider webs were added from Newton's Perfect Pumpkin. The background panel is from the Frames and Flags die set.

Can anyone guess where I got these pumpkins from???  The answer will be at the VERY bottom of this post if you haven't already guessed!

Hi All!  If you've scrolled down this far...the pumpkins are actually the little word bubbles that cut the Boo and the Hoo out!  I just colored them to look like pumpkins!  How cool is that?

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 3

Hi everyone!  Day 3 of the August Reveals and now we're getting to my favorite time of year, when all the Halloween/Fall products start showing up. I was so excited when I saw this set, Hoppy Halloween for the first time!  I just LOVE bunnies, don't you?  And ahem..how about that Flying Bat stencil???  Wow!

So I took a light kraft piece of cardstock in A2 size.  I used the Sunscape Stencil to first make the darker rays with Frayed Burlap Distress Ink.  Then I turned my stencil so that what I just shaded was covered, and I used Mustard Seed Distress Ink to add some moon rays! I die cut a moon using a circle die, then added some shading around the perimeter of the moon.

I cut a grassy hill using the Land Borders Die set, added some Crushed Olive Distress ink and some water splatter. I cut a black banner from the Frames and Flags die set and white heat embossed the sentiment. I Copic colored my bunny image, then popped it up over the banner.

I honestly love my first Halloween card of the season!  I plan on sending it to one of my nephews with a little treat inside :)

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 2

Hi everyone, day 2 of the August reveals and today, I'm so excited to show you this new French Bulldog set, Fabulous Frenchies.  I'm a dog person by heart and these images are just so adorable!  I cannot wait to color them up again.

For my card today, I chose the "lazy sitter" pup.  Why?  Because this is how my dog sits all the time and I think it's just so cute! I combined the stitched rounded edged panel from the Frames and Flags die set and used the Pawprint Stencil on my background.  I used Frayed Burlap Distress Ink to create the pawprint design background.  I colored up the pup with Copic markers and added a balloon and party hat for a fun birthday card!

Keep scrolling for your chance to win this set!

Newton's Nook Designs August Release - Day 1

Hello Newton fans!  Omgosh, it's hard to believe we are already half way into August almost.  And the kids are heading back to school! It's the perfect time to reveal this new Classy Teachers coordinating stamp and die set!
My card is really simple. I love all the images, but thought this big apple would be fun to color as well as the teachers daisy dress!  So I copic colored and die cut my images. Then I popped them off a blackboard looking background with foam tape.  I die cut "Back To School" using the Essential Alphabet Dies and glued them on my blackboard.
Here's what the new set looks like, you'll be able to purchase them this coming Friday.  But!  Make sure to leave your comments on the DT's blogs for your chance to win!

Newton's Summer Treats

Hello, it feels like it's been a while since I've posted a NND card, but that's just how the schedule has gone.  I was thinking about all my wonderful Newton stamp and die sets and wondering what I should create with this week?

I'll admit, I'm starting to think about Fall, how about you?  I'm looking forward to breaking out all my harvest style papers!  And here's a little *hint*, next month NND is coming out with some really cute fall sets!  So stay tuned!

For now though, we are still in the throes of summer here in South Carolina.  Omgoodness it is SO HOT!  And what better way to cool off than with some ice cream?  Does that cone Newton is holding not look de-lish??

So I started with a A2 sized piece of navy blue cardstock and using my NND Confetti Stencil, I smeared Nuvo Glitter Paste in Tanzanite all over the cardfront.  I quickly clean my stencil when I use this product, or it will NEVER come off!  After sufficiently letting it dry, overnight as in my case, I die cut the center using a round die.  I mounted my diecut panel over some light blue card stock.  I cut a banner from the Flags and Frames set with black cardstock.  I then heat embossed the sentiment with VersaMark and white EP by Judikins.

I foam mounted the banner and Newton over the light blue cut out area and my card was complete!

Well, I hope you've enjoyed my card and I would love to hear from you in the comments section!  Have a great weekend everyone!

JustRite Holiday Release 2018 - Day 2

Hello again, I'm here to show you a few more projects I've created using the Holiday 2018 release from JustRite Papercraft.

Have you all been seeing these wonderful wreath cards using Gina K's Wreath Builder?  I recently attended a show where I watched someone demo how it's done. Video Tutorial GinaK Wreath Builder System

The minute I saw these fabulous new stamp sets by JustRite, I thought these would be PERFECT to use in creating wreath cards!  Each new stamp set has numerous small/medium sized images that are solid, so no need for coloring.

This first card uses images from Season's Greetings To You with a sentiment in the middle from the Merry Christmas Sentiments Two.  I stamped the little snowflakes in a softer blue, then created a lantern wreath adding the heart beside it.  I took a little q-tip and rubbed on a little yellow ink to make the lanterns Merry and Bright!

My second card uses images and sentiment from Season's Greetings to You and Christmas Elements.  I just randomly stamped my images around the wreath builder using the jar, greenery, hearts and stars.  I added some Nuvo drops too.  I then glued my wreath panel onto a light blue background and added some twine.

So, if you're like me, and now completely enamored with this GinaK Wreath Builder, take a look at all the fun you can have with these solid image holiday sets by JustRite!

Thanks for stopping by!  Stay tuned for more inspiration tomorrow!

JustRite Christmas 2018 Release

Hello and welcome!  Today I'm showing you some new projects  featuring JustRite Papercraft Christmas 2018 release!  It's been a while and I'm super excited about this entire wonderful release.  For the next few days I'll be showing you some really fun cards that I've created!

So for my first card, I stamped my background using this 4.5"x5.75" background stamp, Dotted Lines onto turquoise cardstock, giving it a tone on tone look.  Then I stamped this sweet little polar bear from the Season's Greetings To You stamp set.  There are some really cute little critter/nature images in this set. It took me just a few minutes to add some shaded grey with my pencils, such an easy image to color. I've got a card coming up later in the week using this set again!  Lastly, I added the sentiment in the newly released Winter Is Here, I adore that font, how about you?!

So I chose this next card to show you, because it also has a winter animal theme with this gorgeous solid deer image from the new set, Christmas Elements, that I'm using as my focal point.

To create this round wreath I die cut a white circle and starting with my darkest, boldest greenery, I stamped the pine bough around the perimeter of the circle leaving a small gap between.  I just eyeballed this, it's not perfect, so don't look too close, haha.  But hey, what wreath is perfectly lined up, right?  Then I selected more of the little images from Winter Is Here, the pine cones, greenery and stars all came from that set. The sentiment came from Christmas Elements.

I suppose you've noticed that I've combines many of the stamp sets from this release.  I absolutely love how this all coordinates together! Pictured below are the sets I used on both cards today.

Thanks for joining me, make sure to stop back tomorrow as I'll have 2 more JustRite projects to show you!
