Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration Blog Hop

Hello Newton fans and welcome to our 5 year anniversary blog hop at Newton's Nook Designs!!! I'm so excited to be sharing a little more from this amazing July release, PLUS more prizes AND some extra freebies just for ordering! Stay tuned for more information on that below!

A quick little shout out to Jennifer and Jeff Jackson to congratulate them on 5 years of producing amazing products and for allowing me to be part of this wonderful team! Every month I'm wowed by their creativity and look forward to every release!

For my first card today, I've used Narly Mermaids to create a fun ocean scene! I colored up a the images using Copic markers. I die cut the waves from the Sea Borders die set, then distress inked them in Tim Holtz Salty Ocean. I flicked white acrylic paint cut 50/50 with water using my paint brush to create interest on the waves. I used TH Squeezed Lemonade and Worn Lipstick distress inks on my sky to create the sunset and also added a little white flicked paint as if they stars were beginning to show at twilight.

I'm going to be giving this card to a friend who will be moving away soon. I found this sweet little sentiment in the Paradise Palms stamp set, "Find Your Paradise", which seems like a perfect thing to say to someone embarking on a long move to a new area. I stamped it on the sky along with the little sun and a few birds flying across the horizon.

I'm also adding a second card that I wasn't sure I was going to share. But my husband said he liked it, so I thought I would! I used the new 2x3 Flip Flop Life set and colored up a bunch of flip flops in different Copic colors, mounted them in a row on a kraft background. I added a couple of tiny fish from one of the other July release sets and I doodled the lines and dots around the card, which is a first for me. What do you think of this look?

Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration - Day 4

Day 4 of the July reveals, what?! I can't believe this week has flown by like it has! But you know what that means? Only 1 more sleep before you can own all these fun new NND products!

So today we're introducing a brand new size stamp set, 2x3 along with coordinating dies! There are 5 available in the new line and I'm featuring 2 below!

Starting with Pina Koala! I cute this little cutie out and copic colored him! I cut some grass using the Land Borders dies and a frame from the Frames and Flags die set! I mounted him on a sunny background paper and inked the sky, adding the little sentiment above. I had 1 flower left over from the Cozy Campers card I made yesterday, so I popped it on the grass. I love using my leftovers on new cards!

Secondly, I created this card using the new mini set, Cat Treats! Omgoodness those little cat cones are so darned adorable! And I also loved coloring those mini cherries! I used the sky borders set to create a Neapolitan base, then added my matching ice cream cones up above! The sentiment is from the Newton's Summer Treats set that we featured on day 2!

Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration - Day 3

Hi everyone, welcome to day 3, omgoodness this week is moving along quickly! Today we've got 2 new stamps that coordinate perfectly with the dies from the Frames & Flags die set and the Framework Die set.

The first being the new Sharks stamp. I took out my trusty Tombow Dual Brush tip markers and colored all these happy smiling sharks! Or, do you think they all may be hungry? I diecut the using the largest postage die from the Framework set. Then mounted on some turquoise cardstock.

I'm adding my sentiment to the inside of the card as I didn't want to cover any of these toothy friends!

My second card is the Flamingo stamp, and I just had this idea to color them all different rainbow colors. Again I used my Tombow markers and just had fun! I cut the image out using the largest scallop from the Frames and Flags die set, then mounted on purple cardstock!

Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration - Day 2

Hi everyone and welcome to day 2 of the Newton July reveals as we continue on with our 5 year celebration! Today we've got 2 new stamp/die sets to show you, so let's get started!

For my first card I played around with the cute kitties in the Newton's Summer Treats set! This is a really simple little card. I took this summer playful zig zag paper and foam popped this scallop circle die cut on top that had a little distress inked backgroud in cracked pistachio. I then added this cool Newton in his shades holding a bomb pop! Lastly I stamped this FUN sentiment, treat yo' self (any Parks and Rec fans here that enjoy using that sentiment when shopping for craft supplies?!? LOL!) I tied a bit of twine on my base layer too!

Then we move onto my 2nd card I made using the new Cozy Campers stamp/die set. I absolutely adore these little retro campers! I'd been playing around with the Starfield Stencil using my white ink on navy cardstock and the idea came to me to create a night camping scene! I love the sentiments in this set as well as the little coordinating stamps..that flamingo!!! I also used both dies in the Land Border sets to create the hill and grass.

Newton's Nook Designs’ 5 Year Celebration - Day 1

Hi Newton fans and welcome to our July reveals and Newton's Nook Designs 5 year celebration! We've got an amazing week ahead with sooooo many amazing new products, you are just going to flip! Today, day 1, you may notice a certain theme going on here. Mermaids, Purr-maids (LOL) and manatee, whoopee!

So check out my first card using Narly Mermaids! Omgoodess, these girls are adorable and so much fun to color along with all the fish, shells and stars accessories! I cut the waves from the Sea Borders die set and the bottom wave using the hill from the Land Borders die set, which I then stenciled using the new Tropical Fish Stencil!

My second card, I've colored up the mail and female Purr-maid and added the adorable seahorses, fish and shells over some distress inked circles! Last I used a banner from the Frames and Flags die set!

Finally my 3rd card features the Manatee-rific stamp/die set. I cut and colored a bunch of those cute shells and starfish to create a wreath around the chubby little manatees! I added a few enamel dots on top of this grey background that I stenciled using the new Seashells stencil. I literally gasped when I took the stencil off paper to reveal this beautiful background!
