Simon Says Stamp Choose Joy

Hello, it's Saturday and the weather in SC is sunny and lovely!  Last night I couldn't sleep, I tossed and turned and finally gave in, came downstairs and started coloring. Who else suffers from insomnia?  It's awful isn't it?  However, if I channel it into coloring, eventually I'll get sleepy again and put my projects on hold until morning.  With clearer eyes I was able to finish this card and I love it!

I just received the latest kit from SSS yesterday and I couldn't wait to create something using the Choose Joy set. Fortunately you can purchase this stamp set separate, as the kit is now sold out. I've linked below for your convenience.

I ended up randomly stamping the pink flowers and the greenery around my cut out cardstock.  I went around all the images with muti shades of grey.  I colored the flowers and leaves, then did a splatter of 50/50 acrylic black and white paint and water mixed.  I heat embossed the beautiful sentiment in white on a black banner and added a few pink glitter dots.  I should also mention that I popped the banner and orange flowers up using foam tape and I love the dimension!

Here are my Copic combinations:

Around the images use C5-C0, the darkest color first, touching the lines of the images, then blend it out to lightest color.

Pink Flowers: E09, RV34, R43, R32, R21
Orange Flowers: YR16, YR15, YR12 and RV34 and R21 in the center
Greenery: BG96, YG17, YG25, Y18

Thanks for stopping, I hope you've enjoyed my project, I would love to hear from you on what you think!

  3. Your coloring has some real pop! So many samples were pastel spring colors, but I think these are great!
